It just makes finding out what happens that much more interesting. This is particularly true about the character Elise Rainier Lin Shaye who, despite her best efforts, is unable to escape the evil forces inhabiting her home. Established in , Blumhouse Productions has created countless horror movies over the years with several of them becoming instant classics including the Paranormal Activity movie franchise and The Purge franchise.
In fact, many may be surprised to find out that this movie franchise has been around for only 5 years with only one installment released prior to this one. Nothing about the movie suggested that it would be a huge hit including its overall dark tone and overall weak characters. But, thanks to modern technology and its use of sound, the movie was able to keep viewers on the edge of their seats without realizing that they were paying that much attention.
When it comes to the cast, they played their parts perfectly except for one thing: most of them were not well-known actors. The biggest name in this movie is probably Rose Byrne who has appeared in Damages and Bridesmaids.
Insidious: The Last Key takes place several years after the original movie. Elise has moved to New Mexico after leaving her husband in search of something different.
She is then contacted by Dalton a paranormal demonologist played by Angus Sampson who asks for her help after his own encounter with ghosts. With no other choice, she decides to investigate the activity at his recently purchased house on North Sentinel Island, California where she discovers that there is more than one type of haunting occurring. Having seen all of the previous movies in this franchise, I am personally disappointed by how Insidious: The Last Key turned out.
